With the assistance from The Essex County Football Association, Burnham Ramblers Juniors FC having made a successful link with Burnham County Primary School. An eight week coaching course for Year 1 and Year 5 children under the umbrella The Three Lions Club led by Neville Hickton, a Level 2 Coach was a great success, so much so that the whole school wanted to be part of it. The first week saw some of the girls somewhat apprehensive and and did not really want to take part, but once they got into the swing of things and the first session over, they could not wait for the next one.  As part of the coaching setup three teachers from Burnham County Primary School, Nicky Tothill (Deputy Headteacher), Caroline Bearman and one other attended a Level 1 Coaching course funded by the Football Foundation. With the eight week course completed, we have now moved on and Year 1 children were invited to be part of the Burnham Ramblers Juniors Football Club set up by turning up at 10:00am Saturday mornings at St Peters High School in Burnham for coaching ready for team football next season. The first week did not get off to a very good start with only three children turning up but that number has now increased to a healthy 27 children. Nicky Tothill leads the coaching along with Trevor Willsher a club Level 1 coach. This link has been so successful that Neville is continuing for a while with the coaching of children in other Year age groups. Caroline Bearman is running an afterscholl club on a Tuesday for girls wishing to play football and currently has six attending.
